Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Loin

Crockpot meals are some of my favorite weeknight meals. They are quick, easy, and ready when I get home from work. This Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Loin recipe is no exception.  It requires no prep work and makes a great dinner.  I served the pork on some slider buns with some Quick Baked Beans.  I think some cheesy grits would be good too.  This makes a lot of pork, but luckily it is good reheated the next day!

How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Loin

This bbq pork is SUPER easy to make. Start with trimming your pork loin. You just want to cut off any large pieces of fat. Place the loin in the slow cooker. Whisk together water, BBQ sauce, and au jus gravy mix. Pour the mixture over the pork and cook until tender. Shred the pork and place it back in the slow cooker. Let the pork simmer in all that yummy sauce a few minutes before serving.

  • What is pork loin? Well, it is basically a giant boneless pork chop. It can be called by several names: Center-cut pork loin roast, center-cut pork roast, pork center loin roast, pork center cut rib roast, pork loin center cut, pork loin center rib roast, pork loin roast center cut, and pork loin rib half.
  • Please note that apork loin and pork tenderloin are NOT the same cut of meat. Tenderloins are thin and small. Pork loins are wide enough to cut steaks pieces from it.
  • Thesafe internalpork cookingtemperature for fresh pork cuts is145ºF.​
  • I shredded our pork loin but you can remove it from the slow cooker and slice it if you prefer.
  • My favorite store-bought BBQ sauces are Sweet Baby Rays, Stubbs, G.Hughes, and Williamson Brothers.
  • Can BBQ Pork be frozen? Yes! Let the pork cool completely and place in freezer bags. To reheat the pork, thaw and reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.

What to Serve with BBQ Pork

We served this pork on slider buns with some coleslaw and baked beans. Feel free to top the sandwiches with more BBQ sauce. This is also great on top of a baked potato or spooned over some cheese grits. YUM! Give this a try the next time you need a no-fuss dinner!

  • 1 (3 to 4-lb) pork loin
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (1-oz) package of Au jus mix
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • Trim away as much fat from the Pork Loin Roast as you can possibly remove.

  • Place pork loin in the slow cooker. Combine water, BBQ sauce, and au jus packet. Pour over pork loin.

  • Cover with the lid, and allow to cook for 8 hours, until it's fork-tender.

  • Shred the loin with two forks or slice with a knife. Return to the slow cooker and stir into sauce.

  • Serve the pork on buns or over grits, rice, or potatoes.
